2026 School is Cool

School is Cool is a CSU community outreach program that provides supply-filled backpacks to elementary, middle, and high school students from low-income families in the Poudre School District (PSD).

This year is special as School is Cool celebrates its 35th and final year. After this summer's backpack drive, the university will transition to a broader, more coordinated community-wide partnership with organizations across Northern Colorado.

Over the years, School is Cool has provided more than 63,500 backpacks to Poudre School District students. This year, we're aiming to provide 2,500 backpacks.

$35 is the cost of one supply-filled backpack. Will you give today and help this be our best year yet?

Notice: All funds raised will be used to purchase backpacks and supplies and support the implementation of this final year of School is Cool. Any funds that remain beyond those expenses will be transferred to the Kathy Phifer School is Cool Legacy Scholarship Endowment, which supports CSU students with demonstrated financial need who come from two Poudre School District schools that participated in the backpack program.
