The History Matters initiative—led by CSU History faculty—builds research-based, equity-driven, hyperlocal K–12 curriculum that brings the under-told histories of Fort Collins, Northern Colorado, and Colorado into classrooms. In collaboration with historians and educators, we create classroom-ready lesson plans, primary-source sets, and multimedia resources—and provide professional development that helps local teachers confidently use them. All History Matters curriculum is open-access and freely available. Your gift supports teacher learning opportunities (led by CSU faculty), which will help local educators bring accurate, inclusive, culturally responsive local history into their classrooms and ensuring more Colorado students see their communities and histories reflected in what they learn.
