C.P. Gillette Museum Montana Moth Project

This project is starting its seventh season sampling pollinators across the state of Montana. This is the first comprehensive study of moths for this important state. To date, we have sampled in all 56 counties and have identified over 1900 species, many of which were unknown to occur in the state. Funding from this campaign will ensure that we can continue to hire student interns to prepare, label, identify, digitize, image and curate the specimens we are receiving. Donations will be matched by a non-profit organization in Montana to help continue this study.
